The Textile Association (India) is the leading and the largest national body of textile professionals in India which was established in the year 1939 and has been serving the Indian textile industry for more than 8 decades. Currently there are 26 affiliated units at various textile centers in the country, accounting for member strength of about 26,000 across India.
The Textile Association (India) is registered under the Trust Act and is managed by a Governing Council. TAI membership encompasses everyone connected with the textile industry whether from trade, education, research, and consultation as an individual or as an organization. It caters to the needs of all fibers, products and all sectors of the Indian Textile industry. The membership is aimed to provide professional growth to technologists, managers, traders, researchers, entrepreneurs, teachers and consultants in the Indian textile scene. TAI has been organizing Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Refresher Courses and Exhibitions of textiles and allied machines for the benefits of the members throughout the country with the help of all 26 federal Units, which are autonomous in the activities.
The Delhi Unit of The Textile Association (India) was established in 1965 when the professionals felt the necessity of sharing technical knowledge, information and the advancement in technology for the growth of their industries as well as the general growth in textile industry. They discuss the idea in detail and established The Textile Association (India) Delhi on 15th August, 1965 which is affiliated to The Textile Association (India).TAI - Delhi has its own constitution. Delhi Unit of TAI is registered under Societies act and is managed by its Managing Committee. TAI Delhi is making its contribution to the PM’s ‘Make in India’ campaign and the Government’s Vision to power-drive the Textile Sector.
TAI Delhi has more than 2700 Life, Patron& Corporate members. It is the third largest unit in the country after Mumbai and Ahmedabad. TAI Delhi regularly organizes various useful activities like seminars, workshops, industry visits, industry- institute interaction and social get-togethers etc. for its members. TAIDelhi has been awarded with the Best Unit Award a number of times and many of its members have been honored with Service Gold Medal, Service Memento & Industry Excellence Award. It has also achieved the historic milestone of winning Best Unit Award 5 times during the period of last 7 years, i.e., for the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 & 2019. It has organized several successful conferences in the past including the 1st Asian Textile Conference in the year 1991, the 7th Asian Textile Conference in 2003, 67th All India Textile Conference in 2012, National Textile Seminar in 2013, National Textile Conference in 2015 & Textile Summit in 2018.
The Textile Association (India) Delhi Is a nonprofit making professional organization which is registered under the society act of 1860.
